DIABETES –

NATURAL MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL

 

 What is Diabetes?

 

Diabetes is a metabolic condition where blood sugar (glucose) levels remain too high.

It happens when the body either cannot produce enough insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin it makes to turn sugar into energy.

 

 

Common Causes

 

  • Sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise

  • Poor diet high in refined sugars and carbs

  • Obesity or excess abdominal fat

  • Genetic predisposition

  • Chronic stress and lack of sleep

Common Symptoms

 

  • Frequent urination (especially at night)

  • Increased thirst and dry mouth

  • Unexplained weight loss or constant hunger

  • Blurred vision

  • Slow-healing wounds or frequent infections

 

Lifestyle Role

 

  • Physical activity increases insulin sensitivity

  • Consistent meal timings prevent sugar spikes

  • Quality sleep regulates hunger hormones

  • Management is centered on balancing movement, nutrition, and stress.

 

Tests (If Needed)

 

  • HbA1c – to check average blood sugar over 3 months

  • Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS) – sugar level after 8 hours of fasting

  • Post-Prandial Blood Sugar (PPBS) – sugar level 2 hours after a meal

 

Naturopathy Management (With Home Remedies)

 

  • These remedies can be safely done at home unless advised otherwise:

  • Drink Fenugreek (Methi) water: soak 1 tsp seeds overnight and drink in the morning

  • Consume Bitter Gourd (Karela) or Jamun seed powder as advised

  • Include Cinnamon (Dalchini) in tea or food to improve insulin response

  • Focus on a "Low Glycemic Index" diet (whole grains, beans, leafy greens)

  • Eat small, frequent meals instead of large heavy ones

  • Limit white rice, white flour (maida), and refined sugar

  • Practice "Vajrasana" for 10 minutes after meals

 

Yoga & Pranayama (Home Practice)

 

Simple practices that can be done at home:

  • Activating Exercises

  • Abdominal twists to stimulate the pancreas

  • Walking at a brisk pace for 30 minutes daily

 

Yoga Asanas

  • Mandukasana (frog pose) – excellent for pancreatic stimulation

  • Paschimottanasana (seated forward bend)

  • Ardha Matsyendrasana (half spinal twist)

 

Pranayama

Daily Care Tips

  • Maintain a regular sleep-wake cycle

  • Keep a log of blood sugar readings

 

Important Note

 

  • Do not stop or change diabetes medication without a doctor’s advice

  • Always carry a small sugar source in case of hypoglycemia (low sugar)

  • Monitor sugar levels more closely when starting a new exercise routine
